Orthodontics for general dentists
About Orthomania
Orthomania is an orthodontic training program for BDS dentists, founded by Dr. Hitesh Nagrath in Mumbai. It offers an offline Module-wise Program and an online course.
Orthomania (formerly Ortho-Mania, also written Ortho Mania) is an orthodontic education brand run by Dr. Hitesh Nagrath, an orthodontist in Mumbai with an MDS, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics qualification. It teaches general dentists how to diagnose, plan and manage fixed orthodontic cases, through an offline program in Chembur and an online course.
What Orthomania teaches
The teaching follows the same framework in both formats: records and diagnosis, treatment planning, the armamentarium, bonding, biomechanics, wire sequences, vertical control, mini implants, finishing and retention. The MBT based approach is explained step by step so a general dentist can use it in daily practice.

About Orthomania: common questions
Who can attend an Orthomania orthodontic course?
Any qualified dentist with a BDS degree can attend. The programs are designed for general dental practitioners and no prior orthodontic experience is needed. We welcome BDS dentists from across India and abroad, and we especially encourage dentists from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Is Orthomania a degree, diploma or fellowship?
No. Orthomania is a skill enhancement program for qualified, practising dentists. It does not confer any academic degree, diploma, fellowship or specialist recognition. Participants receive a certificate of attendance or participation.
Who teaches the course?
The course is taught by Dr. Hitesh Nagrath, who holds an MDS, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics (2015) and has been in private orthodontic practice in Mumbai. He has trained general dentists since 2018. Read more on the Dr Hitesh Nagrath page.
How do I enrol or get more details?
Call or WhatsApp +91 90290 04169, or send an enquiry through the contact page. The team replies mon to sat, 10:00 am to 8:00 pm ist. Online course enrolment is completed on the course portal.
What is the difference between the offline and online courses?
The offline program is an 8 day, 3 module training in Mumbai that runs over about 6 months in small batches. The online course is a structured series of recorded lessons you can watch from anywhere. A side by side view is on the online vs offline comparison page.
Do I need any orthodontic experience before joining?
No. The curriculum starts from diagnosis and case selection and builds up to finishing, retention and aligners, so it suits dentists who are starting from the beginning as well as those who want to put structure around what they already do.
Will I be able to start treating orthodontic cases after the course?
The course teaches a structured protocol for diagnosis, planning, bonding, wire sequencing, finishing and retention, and participants receive case support afterwards. How soon you begin depends on your practice and your own case selection. We recommend starting with simple cases and discussing each case with the team.
Which appliance system is taught?
Fixed appliance teaching is built around the MBT straight wire appliance, together with bracket design, the slot size discussion, wire sequences and mechanics. Aligners and myofunctional appliances are covered as well.
Are clear aligners part of the course?
Yes. Clear aligner therapy is taught in Module 3 of the offline program and as a dedicated section of the online course, including case selection, attachments and interproximal reduction (IPR).
